Laser positioning uses cross or line lasers projected onto a turntable to mark the centre of rotation, so an operator can place each product in the same position quickly. A well-centred product does not drift or wobble in a 360 spin.

How PhotoRobot uses it

PhotoRobot turntables use built-in cross lasers, with cross or grid options on some machines; a laser controller drives 1 to 20 positioning lasers. Lasers are switched off automatically during capture on systems such as PINK so the laser line does not appear in images. The laser centering guide describes how to align the lasers to the true centre of the plate.

  • Centre of rotation: The axis a turntable spins around; a product placed on it stays in the same spot in every frame.
